Chris's involvement in the family home building business started in his youth, working the odd jobs around the homes. Being "family" it was those jobs nobody else wanted to do which fell into Chris's lap. Needless to say, Chris learned the business from the ground up. In '88, Chris graduated with a BS in Construction Management from CSU Chico and took a position for a top 5 Engineering/Construction firm headquartered out of NYC. In 1990, Chris moved his young family back to Sacramento area to work in the family business. Chris's main focus was coordinating and supervising & scheduling the field work. In 1996, Ray retired & Chris became President of Ray Grenz Construction and ran the day to day operations. In 1998, the company name was changed, Grenz Homes Inc. was formed.
Karen wears a multitude of hats, Interior Designer and Office Manager. Karen received her Bachelors of Arts degree at CSU Chico. While raising her family, she went back to school to study Interior Design. While back in college, Karen involved herself with the local & national levels of ASID by becoming the VP of the National Student Council of American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Karen selects all the finishes in our spec homes and is available to our clients to help choose their own finishes.
Grenz Homes Inc has many relationships with both suppliers and subcontractors that date back 30 years or more. There was a time in the home building business it was important to have your own crews. Grenz Homes Inc. found that in today's custom home building climate, it works best to have specialized contractors you can trust to meet today's high demands for quality and efficiency.
